Roughly eight months ago I decided that going on an exchange to Holland would be a good idea. I don't know exactly how this came about, but now that the plane ticket has been bought, my room has been reserved at Professor Verbernelaan (to the right) and my tuition has been paid... the reality is setting in: I am going.
So I finish my co-op work term on January 10th, then have a week to spend time with family, friends, and of course Howie. Leaving day is not going to be easy. I wish I could pack Howie in my suitcase and take him with me but I think that would be too crampy for him.
I found out my friend from Dutch class has also been accepted to Tilburg for this Winter term. Florence and I will arrive in Amsterdam by Thursday the 18th. Her aunt has graciously offered to pick us up from the airport and let us stay with her for a few days before driving us south to Tilburg for the exchange students' orientation week.
Right now, I am feeling a mix of emotions ranging from excitement, fear, sadness, happiness and some nausea. If there is any emotions I did not mention I'm sure you can add those as well.
